A guide to purchase a digital camera

Photographic camera became a desired consumer item since it became handheld many years ago. As it became digital with no need for film processing, digital camera became even more popular and it is now considered one of the most wanted optical/electronic consumer products. However buying a digital camera may be a bit difficult due to the many brands and models being offered. After all there are so many features, one has to be sure of his needs in picking the right digital camera. The following tips might of some help: 1 - Price range: It is recommended that you establish a price range you are willing to pay for your new digital camera. Prices can start from bellow a hundred up to thousands of dollars. 2 - Features: Within the price range previously established, check the features available in digital cameras. Make sure it will meet your requirements for your personal or professional goals. You may find features such as zoom, automatic functions, special effects, black & white images, video recording capability and others. 3 - Battery life: Depending upon the places you go, charging the camera`s battery may not be possible. So make sure the battery life will last long enough during your outdoor activities. Also it may be a good idea to have some extra rechargeable batteries, so that that you won`t have to stop using the camera, while the original batteries are being charged. 4 - Memory Storage: Digital photographs are stored in the camera`s memory. Most cameras have built in memory, but it will accept memory card as well, to increase its storage capability. Depending upon the picture resolution, a user can take hundreds of shots, before it exceeds the memory storage. 5 - Image Resolution: Also known as pixel resolution, this is one of the most talked about features in digital cameras. Although 2.0 mega pixels will deliver good photos for any personal and emailing purposes, nowadays digital cameras with 8.0 and above mega pixels (million of pixels) have become a standard feature. The higher the mega pixel resolution, the better it will look the pictures in larger prints. For those thinking about image enlargement, high mega pixel resolution is a must. 6 - Lens: Beware that the zoom feature may be of two kinds: optical and digital. Optical zoom relies on the lens magnification and delivers a good, sharp and clear image. On the other hand, digital zoom is the magnifying of the digital image and produces a less sharp, grainy image. So make sure that the digital camera offers some optical zoom capability. Also look for lens auto focus and image stabilization features. 7 - LCD: LCD screen is a standard feature in every digital camera, and it works for framing the shot beforehand and viewing it afterwards. Look for LCD screen size 2 inches and above for better clear images. 8 - Online Stores: Whenever looking for the best deals in digital cameras, take a look at some trusted internet stores. Since prices are posted in web sites, people may find very easy to compare them, and get the best deals. Also take a look at some auction sites, for new and used digital cameras. Digital camera has definitely become a very popular consumer product. The easy of taking shots and emailing to friends have really made this item an absolute must-have kind of product. I guess one could say that people found in digital cameras the perfect tool to preserve special moments by sharing digital photos with loved ones, around this ever growing wide world web. 5 Gadgets that a good spy can t live without

Whether you are an amateur or a professional, gadgets play an essential role in the life of a spy. Although there are some tools and gadgets which are only designed for specific situations that you may encounter as a spy, there are other gadgets which can be useful to you every single day. If you are a spy and don’t have these five gadgets, you are missing some valuable tools from your arsenal: 1) Portable Bug Detector-As a spy, you are responsible for not only obtaining information, but also keeping privileged information completely secret. Whether you are concerned about a phone, room or car bug, a portable bug detector can provide you with the security you need. Portable bug detectors are extremely easy to operate, and allow you to quickly decide whether or not it is safe to divulge confidential information in your current environment. Best of all, portable bug detectors are easy to conceal, which means that you can take one everywhere you go. 2) Room Bug-Although you need a portable bug detector to protect yourself, the primary job of a spy is surveillance. In order to do this, you need to know what other people are talking about. The best way to accomplish this is with a room bug. You can place a room bug in any environment, and then listen to the conversation from a secure location. Because they can only be picked up by radio scanners, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) room bugs are your best option. 3) Binoculars-Since a lot of your surveillance will take place from a distance, it is important to have a pair of binoculars with you. Having a quality pair of binoculars can mean the difference between whether or not you are successfully able to identify someone. 4) Audio and Video Recorder-This is the gadget that the general population almost always associates with spies. An audio and video recorder will allow you to obtain and preserve valuable information and evidence. 5) Notepad-This may seem overly obvious, but many spies neglect to carry a notepad with them. Whether its writing down a license plate number or a description of a suspicious person, a notepad is arguably the most important tool a spy can carry.

Mozy the ultimate online backup solution

Data backup is something that you just can't take for granted anymore. The risks from viruses, spyware and computer hardware problems are so many and so varied that not keeping at least one copy of your computer data backed up is just asking for the worst kind of trouble. Being protective of your data and having a data backup policy or procedure is no longer just in the domain of system administrators in big companies. Nope. Home users should now also have their own data protection policy. You no longer have a choice. Most people tend to look at storing their data on DVDs or external hard drives. This in itself is a positive step in terms of data backup - you're protecting your data from harm. There's one single and massive flaw in backing up your data in this way. It's still stored where you live or work and is at risk from fire, flood, theft, electrical storms or just plain old hardware failure. Any of these can wipe out all those carefully created backup sets in a few moments. Is there a solution? Of course there is - using a remote or online backup service to keep a second copy of your absolutely mission critical data. This ensures that no matter what type of crisis might ruin the data you have stored locally the remote copy will always be safe and available to restore within a few moments if you need to. So where can you find a reliable online backup service? This is where most people run into problems. There are lots of "pretenders" out there - companies who claim to offer great service and features and always fall short on pretty much every count. Then along came Mozy and everything changed. Mozy is, without doubt, the best online file backup service I've ever seen or used. It's very easy-to-setup, offers a free starter package, works flawlessly from within firewalls, is extremely configurable and runs scheduled incremental backups whenever you want it to. The application itself is tiny and doesn't take over 90% of your processing power (unless you configure it that way) and is easy-to-use for even the most novice computer user. Mozy is sleek and powerful - unlike some of the awful online backup services that exist on the market today. If you really do value your data then you'll need to keep multiple copies of it and ideally keep one copy stored online so that you can restore it whenever or wherever you need to. Mozy fits the bill perfectly in that regard and comes highly, highly recommended.

Finding the right kind of watch battery

Keeping time nowadays can be done in a number of ways. From cell phones to computers to PDA’s, we have the accurate time right at our fingertips at any given moment. But for some, staying on schedule means the ownership of a wristwatch. And the maintenance of such a watch means the periodic replacement of the watch battery. First introduced by Energizer in 1957, the watch battery revolutionized the way we powered our watches. No longer was it necessary to wind a watch in order to maintain its operation; the watch battery was the new face of timekeeping and the public responded by making battery-operated watches one of the most popular choices among consumers; manufacturers scrambled to keep pace. Today, the watch battery is taken mostly for granted; its miniscule presence rarely noticed until it’s time to find a replacement. But luckily, finding a watch battery replacement is neither a pricey nor complicated procedure. For designer watches, it is always best to visit the manufacturer or an authorized dealer. For these particular brands of watches, corresponding parts are often found only through the manufacturer. In this way you can guarantee the consistency of high quality parts – including your watch battery. For less expensive watches, a watch battery can be found in local retail stores or even in jewelry stores. They are extremely inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. Most important, however, is to ask about your watch’s battery needs when purchasing it. In this way you can be sure you know what to ask for and where to look when your watch battery needs replacing. The added bonus of the watch battery is its ability to be used in other small pieces of equipment such as hearing aids, remote controls, and calculators – among other items. This can be extremely convenient when you need a quick and temporary watch battery replacement.

Wireless camera systems are they perfect for your surveillance needs

How times have changed the advancement of technology in the recent years has revolutionised so many aspects of people’s lives. The security industry has undergone radical changes in technology and today’s systems are excellent. The advent of the computer and the advancements over the last twenty years has been huge and with wireless technology available the security camera systems have been overhauled. These systems are now a common part of many people’s homes or business, how do they work and what are the wireless camera systems. They operate using the wireless technology available for any pc network. To get the system operational you will need a pc, wireless camera, router and some surveillance software. These systems are now at the cutting edge of technology and are becoming more and more advanced. The feeds from the wireless cameras can be directed in color straight to your TV or monitor and can even send color footage straight to your video recorder. Some of the systems are so easy to setup it is quoted that they can be installed and running within 10 minutes. Installation is a simple process, just mount the cameras in the position where you want them to point, plug them into the power source, connect your video receiver into the power source and there is your wireless camera system installed. Obviously this is a very basic setup and they can be more sophisticated than this. Usually the wireless networks will transmit up to a radius of 100 feet and it can transmit through floors, doors, walls and ceilings. If you want to step up a level with your system then you may wish to have a radio controlled unit or also an outdoor night time wireless system. Whatever system you choose the principals of the wireless setup remains the same with the wireless transmitter for the audio and video. It is also possible to boost the wireless signals and get a long range transmitter, where as the standard transmitter length will be around 100ft the long range wireless transmitter will be around 1000 feet. If this is a requirement for your system then this will come at a premium as it is rather more expensive than the standard transmitter. For the top end camera systems you can get a transmitter that will broadcast up to 1 mile, should be unnecessary for the everyday user though. Make sure if you are purchasing a unit for outdoors you get a suitable product in terms of the environment. Don’t buy an indoor camera system and put it outdoors, there are special systems that will be made just for outdoors, the indoor ones will not last if they get wet or the temperatures drop. It is also possible to get radio controlled wireless camera systems, if you have the cameras positioned and would like to move them if they are fixed you would have to go out and manually reposition the camera. The radio controlled cameras allow you to move the direction of the camera from the control centre to which every area you would like to monitor within that camera range.

What is a file with a .lnk extension

LNK files are shortcut files that link to an exe file somewhere on the system. These can build up in the central database called the registry and slow the system down drastically if they are not cleaned from time to time. Registry cleaners, such as Windows XP registry cleaner, Free registry cleaner or a Eusing registry cleaner can do the job. A shortcut file is also known as a link file because it is linked to the program it is expected to startup. A. LNK file is usually linked to a. exe or executable file or program. It is actually a pointer to an. EXE file that may be anywhere on your system. When you click on the shortcut it's like clicking on the. EXE file and the associated program starts to run. Many a time a LNK file will stop working for no reason at all. This is because of some malicious software known as viruses that download themselves and disrupt the underlying. EXE application. They do this by disrupting the association with the program and the link file. Many times the change is unintentional because a downloaded program makes changes to the registry to facilitate their programs thus corrupting the registry. These changes can be undone by registry cleaners that are available for free download from the Internet. It is possible to undo or repair the damage to a LNK file by going into the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. lnk section of the registry because this is where all the LNK files and associated information is stored for the computer to use. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. You may do more damage to the system than good if you do not know exactly what you are doing in the registry. There fore, it is better if you search through the Internet and locate a registry cleaner, such as Windows XP registry cleaner, Free registry cleaner or a Eusing registry cleaner then down load the windows registry cleaner you feel is best for your system and run it to scan the registry and then clean the registry of all the redundant files or broken links. By using a registry cleaner on a regular basis you will find that your system will be making less error while operating. Most of the LNK or EXE errors will have been done away with as well. The system will also run more efficiently and faster than before the registry cleaner was run on the system. The registry is the central database of the system and stores all the information the system needs to run efficiently. Any changes in the system are reflected in the registry in the appropriate section. The registry grows in size as the system is used. Thus when a program requests some information it has to be located in the registry and the registry searches through the entire filing system to locate the information. This is how the registry slows down a system drastically as it grows. The registry will keep all information entered into it. So the redundant information has to be cleaned or erased from time to time. This is accomplished with the help of registry cleaner software. Registry cleaner software is a great tool to speed up the system and make it more stable.

A brief history of television

One of the most frequently asked questions related to television is, `Where`s the remote?` When the first simple television (televisores) was built in 1928, it did not come with a remote. The entire wonder consisted of a disk, a light (which tended to make the images orange in appearance) and a moderate need for electricity. By the 1930`s, televisions (televisores) had evolved to all electrical components. The typical screen was about 6X8 inches and generally was mounted in a much larger cabinet. By the late 1930`s televisions were made by several manufacturers in the United States and throughout Europe and the Soviet Union. World War II slowed recreational television progress while turning that technology to the necessary military communications. Many communication devices were made accessible using television cable. Unlike the Viet Nam War, civilians were not able to watch the battles that had been fought and radio was still highly sought for news and entertainment. By 1945, many American families believed they had suffered enough hardship from the war and rewarded themselves with televisions (televisores). The pictures were of a better quality than in earlier televisions and only in black and white. Programming other than news had caught on and gradually, game shows, sports and other programs of interest were available. Technically, the ability to produce programs in color occurred in the late 1940`s, however it was in the mid 1960`s that major broadcasters began to produce their programming in color. Early colored televisions did not provide exact color replication. One often noticed unnatural tint which was correctable by manipulating the `tint` dial on the television. For those of us old enough to remember the assignation of John F. Kennedy, we will also remember his lying in state and his funeral and burial all shown on major broadcast stations. This was the first major event in American history that could be viewed by people all across the United States on television (televisores). Despite miles of separation, people in the USA felt more connected to one another because of this new technology. The 1970`s brought about the greatest surge of television purchases. Major appliance stores (Sears and others) had banks of televisions on display. Daytime television and `Soap Operas` became favorites of many stay at home mothers. Game shows became more plentiful as did movies which introduced us to favorites such as John Waynne, Robert Young, `Beaver Cleaver` and many, many more. These were idyllic families, devoid of abuse, less than charitable language, arguments, and other behaviors evidenced in today`s homes and societies. Television commercials changed the `tools` of childhood which previously had been invented and make believe to Barbie and Ken dolls, talking bears, more sophisticated bicycles and wagons and the like. Satellites influenced further changes in television (televisores) in the mid 1980`s. Pay for view programming became possible through the encryption of programming and transmitting via cable and only to viewers who had the additional equipment to view such programs. Today, digital and satellite television (televisores) deliver the clearest images to the viewer and provide several hundred channels from which to choose. Televisions have grown from 6x8 picture tubes in huge cabinets to slim instruments sitting atop pedestals. Large screen television gives the appearance of football players kicking off in one`s living room and monster trucks driving directly at the viewer. Television today may be accessed from one`s computer as well as by cell phone. I can`t imagine what I would see in a crystal ball if I were to search for changes in television technology, but I know that improvements and innovative concepts are explored daily.

What the heck is an mup. sys error

Computer networks really cannot do without the presence of the mup. sys file. However, errors in this crucial file can prevent a computer from booting correctly, or booting at all. WHY IS MUP. SYS ON MY COMPUTER? Mup. sys is used in the newer operating systems in the Windows range --Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista. The file helps in the functioning of a part of the operating system called a Multiple UNC Provider (MUP). It is part of a software system that helps networked computers communicate with one another to share files and peripheral components such as printers and scanners. UNC stands for Universal Naming Convention -- this phrase refers to how a network of computers using the same operating system communicate through a language that is uniform to describe the locations of resources used by the network, such as shared files and peripherals. This is not quite as complicated as it sounds. For all of us lay people, it means that the locations of the resources stored on a computer are described using certain specific terms. For example, when studying the number of files in your hard drive and click on a folder, the location of the folder on your hard drive is listed in an address bar. If you click on a folder or file, the location of the file might show up in the form of something like C:\foldername\filename. This structure is used for every file and folder on a computer, as well as peripheral resources such as scanners and printers. Would this reveal something about how the Multiple UNC Provider system works? When a program on a networked computer tries to access a shared resource, that computer has to use a UNC path (the path refers to the location of the resource). The access request is forwarded to the Multiple UNC Provider, which then redirects the request according to which computer on the network is making it. The Multiple UNC Provider, therefore, is part of a system that allows networked computers to communicate with other computers without hiccups. WHAT MAKES MUP. SYS CAUSE THE ERRORS? Errors in mup. sys are attributable to corruption in the system file, or a bug in the Windows operating system that relates to the mup. sys file. These errors may prevent mup. sys from being able to load. The problem with this is that Windows tries to load mup. sys whenever you put on your computer, whether your computer is part of a network or not. Therefore, if the file is corrupted to the extent that it cannot be completely loaded, your computer will either crash or start rebooting every time it attempts to load the mup. sys file. In most cases, this happens even when safe mode is the option being used. WHAT OTHER ERROR MESSAGES CAN ARISE? Aside from file corruption errors as described above, mup. sys may occasionally cause other types of errors, depending on your operating system and configuration. An outdated or corrupted mup. sys file might be causing a variety of non-specific network errors, most commonly in Windows 2000 and Windows NT. Thus, the errors may include the ones in Distributed File System connections between domain controllers and client computers, as well as more general network errors in networks running any XP, 2000, NT or Vista version of Windows. In most cases, the root cause of such errors, including most of the following, lies in using an operating system version that is working on yesterday's technology. Stop 0x50 Error (Windows NT 4.0) This error occurs if your sound scheme is set to "No Sounds". The system finds it difficult to follow this -- it searches for a file called "close. wav" on the network at computer shutdown, even though sound has been set to off and that file has not been utilized. When this happens, a bug in the mup. sys file might lead to the error. This may happen whenever the computer is turned off. Stop: 0x0000000a Error (Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 6a) The error is regardless of system configuration or what applications are currently running. However, only computers running the above version of Windows NT may fall prey to this error type. Event ID 2012 (Windows NT 4.0, with Service Pack 3) An outdated mup. sys file may sometimes result in an Event ID 2012 Network Error in computers running this version of Windows NT. We see such errors when running an application that uses Btrieve engine version 6.15 (Btrieve is a database that uses a method of storing data that provides fast retrieval times). Non-responsive Network (Windows 2000, SP1 or 2) An error in mup. sys may occasionally cause computers across a network to become non-responsive when a networked computer disconnects from the Distributed File System. System Error 53 (Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0) This error can occur when using a version of either operating system that may be rather old. Conflicts between mup. sys and the Distributed File System may result in such an error.
